As an Artist I can Develop Craft :
I decided to make a Double Pinch- pot with designs. I learned how to stamp and learned how to make and create artwork with Clay. Carving out the designs is what I originally wanted but it just looked way too unprofessional, stamps are a lot easier and have very neat designs. I learned how to use Clay and clean it up to make it look good.
As a Artist I Engage and Persist :
Some challenges that I had was that the Clay would get very thin at the bottom of the Pinch-Pot and very thick at the top. I had to constantly start over, I wanted to carve out the designs but I ended up stamping them instead. My final product did not finish like my sketch because I had to change some things around to make it work but overall I am happy with the final result.
As a Artist I Envision
I really love Zen tangles, so I wanted to add in my abstract designs. I was inspired by Susan Bach, she is a potter and I saw a clay pot of hers with Black and White designs on the outside and on the inside a bright Red color. My ideas changed because I stamped instead of Carving because if I Carve, then the Clay would build up during the process on the sides. By Stamping instead of drawing it on will give it a Texture and It would look way better as well.
